Succulent Close-Up

Self-harm can be a way of coping when emotions feel too intense, overwhelming, or difficult to express. It can bring temporary relief, while also leaving you feeling stuck, ashamed, or alone.

In our work together, there is no judgement. We gently explore:

  • what self-harm does for you

  • when it happens and what triggers it

  • how emotions show up in your body

  • the link between emotional pain and physical expression

We also work on:

  • recognising triggers earlier

  • finding alternative coping strategies that feel realistic

  • giving thoughts space to change

  • reparenting and inner child work

  • building self-compassion

Sometimes I use the analogy of caring for a wound — if a cut isn’t cleaned and cared for, it can become infected. Emotional pain needs that same care, attention, and compassion.

I also support parents and loved ones of someone who self-harms, helping you process your own experience while learning how best to support them.
